My ancestors come from a Greek island of Northern Aegean and when traveled there as a child, my cousins were telling me stories about waking up by the roosters of the Turkish shore. In such a proximity the people of both countries have exchanged customs and traditions and nowadays traveling between the two shores has become very easy. With this in mind, the members of our family based on the island booked an all inclusive Turkey vacation package that would allow us a well organized and stress-free tour on the Turkish coast. The Turkey vacation package was proposed by a reputable Turkish travel company and suggested a rather original itinerary. We would sail along the coast with a traditional gullet boat, with a skipper and a private chef. With no restrictions as to where we would stop, we could chose to stay overnight by a private beach, or by a noisy port town. The day tours to the mainland were pre-arranged as part of our Turkey vacation package, so we had nothing to worry about. We all agreed on traveling light, as our only concern was to have sunscreens and swim-suits to bare the glaring sun while on the deck. The perfect all inclusive Turkey vacation package was created and executed for us and (don’t tell the gullet boat owner) we carved our names on the deck to leave our mark, the same as this trip left its mark on us.
